OUR PROJECTS

Regional Community Development

  • Headed Capital Campaign for development of the Industrial Pork in Curwensville
  • Created and provided upkeep for directional signs that list companies that are located in the industry park
  • Partnered with Community Action for weatherization of 8 low income homes through Federal Home Loan Bonk funding
  • Co -hosted a grant training program at Lock Haven University in Clearfield
  • Hosted the Cool and Connected workshop to determine broadband expansion with technical assistance from the EPA, Appalachian Regional Commission and Smart Growth America
  • Executed a Cooperative agreement among Curwensville Borough, Curwensville Area School District and CRDC to maintain harmonious and mutually beneficial relationships between the 3 entities for the betterment of the community and its citizens
  • In one year the CRDC raised over $102,000 of the $150,000 Blueprint for Prosperity Capital Campaign Streetscape goat through private investments for community improvements
  • Acquisition of abandoned property for development of pocket park
  • Successful application for and implementation of Grampian welcome sign through a grant from PA Downtown Center for $2,500


Curwensville School District

  • Partnered with the Curwensville Area School District wood technology students to build an Environmental Educational tearing display at Irvin Park 
  • Partnered with the Curwensville Area School District art students to restore railroad tunnel to entrance to Curwensville with murals depicting historical events in Curwensville history
  • CRDC also purchased new lighting for inside the tunnel
  • Engaged school students to participate in annual Great American Clean- up day In Curwensville and Grampian

Community Wide Events

  • Sponsor of the semi annual multiphasic blood screening events for the community in April and October
  • Sponsor of the Annual Great American Cleon-up Day for the regional area since 2015
  • Each year the CRDC provides donations to community groups in need 
  • The CRDC maintains and installs the Christmas lighting for the town
  • Execute fundraisers throughout the community; Golf Tournament,  Annual Chicken BBQ. Fall Family Fun Fest

Natural Resources: Irvin Park, Curwensville Lake, & Bigler's Rocks

  • Acted as Project Manager and  partnered with Curwensville Borough to apply and be granted a $10,000 DCNR grant and a CCRTA grant for a Master Site Development Plan for Irvin Park to determine the community's needs for the park
  • Acted as Project Manager and partnered with Curwensville Borough to apply and receive a $5,200 Lumber Heritage Region grant to install a canoe/kayak launch along with a log boom interpretive sign along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River at Irvin Park
  • Spearheaded a fundraising campaign to raise funds to provide handicap accessible playground equipment at Irvin Park and to this date have raised over $77,000 from the community to fund installation of 3 phases of the project. 
  • Partnered with Bilger's Rocks Association, in Bloom Township, to provide a new entrance sign at Bilger's Rocks and provided funding to assist in the building of the new Educational Center.
  • Partnered with Friends of Curwensville Lake, in Pike Township, to provide funding to upgrade a bathhouse at Curwensville Lake and helped spearhead the implantation of a disc golf course..

The The Curwensville Regional Development Corporation (CRDC) is committed to economic development, housing and job creation through the many natural resource features that provides opportunities for residents and visitors to reside, work and recreate in the region. CRDC collaborates with local leaders and businesses to advance regional planning and development. 


BOARD MEETINGS are held the 3rd Wednesday of every ODD numbered month. Committee meetings are held as needed.
